France homework law

As part of an effort to overhaul education in France, President Francois Hollande is proposing the elimination of homework. In the name of equality, the French government has proposed doing away with homework in elementary and junior high school.

As a whole, the French legal system is modeled after the civil law system. In France, a law degree is earned by attending law school. Law school is a school within a larger university, not a separate entity.

French President François Hollande has proposed banning homework as part of a series of policies designed to reform the French educational system. "Education is priority," Hollande said in a speech at Paris's Sorbonne University. "An education program is, by definition, a societal program. Work should be done at school, rather than at home."
